“During the event over 60 participants learnt about methods to render visible the past and current ties between Dutch universities and fossil companies, like Shell, and reasons to do so.”
Last week on March 16, 2023 the Mapping fossil ties symposium organised by S4F Wageningen was held in Wageningen, to deepen our knowledge about the ties between universities and the fossil industry and their consequences for academia and research. During the event over 60 participants learnt about methods to render visible the past and current ties between Dutch universities and fossil companies, like Shell, and reasons to do so.
We really enjoyed the fantastic presentations by Brigitte Wear and Vatan Hüzeir. Thank you so much! We also would like to thank Philipp Gramlich for his friendly and smooth moderation, and Linda Knoester and Aaron Pereira from Solid Sustainability Research who will coordinate this project that aims to map the fossil ties of all Dutch universities this year.
This event was only the first of many to follow – so stay tuned!
