Description

‘Animal Intersection’ is a thought-provoking film that delves into the complex relationship between humans and other animals. Set in the small and serene village of Algodres, Portugal, the film explores the way humans interact with and experience other animals that share their surroundings. Through a series of captivating observations of the landscape, the film sheds light on how people construct their own unique ideas about animals and engage with them in diverse ways. ‘Animal Intersection’ places a special emphasis on three distinct groups: the villagers, the nature reserve workers, and the anthropologist, each offering their own unique perspectives and insights. Together, they present a compelling narrative that challenges established notions of “otherness” and advocates for building connections and relationships with other animals, rather than perceiving them as distant and disconnected entities. By emphasizing the importance of human-animal connections, the film invites viewers to reconsider their own relationship with the natural world and to appreciate the beauty and complexity of the intricate relationship between all living beings in a more respectful and compassionate way.
