Ethnographic Film Club: The Lau of Malaita – “Disappearing World”

Join us for Session #1 of the Technical Action Cluster, featuring the captivating story of the Lau people of the Solomon Islands. Over 600 years ago, the Lau people abandoned the hills of Malaita and created small coral islands in the beautiful Lau Lagoon. Today, their way of life has been transformed by Christian missionary influence, replacing their traditional beliefs and customs.

This thought-provoking film will take you on a journey as the villagers take meaningful steps to revive their dying traditions and reconnect with their cultural roots.
