Menstrual Hygiene Day 2025

Let’s Talk About Menstruation (On Stage): A Forum Theatre Workshop on Menstrual Realities

Ever faked a smile while in period pain? Hid a pad up your sleeve? Stayed quiet in a meeting while your uterus screamed? Or maybe you’ve never menstruated—but you’ve watched someone you care about go through it, and didn’t know how to help.

This theatre workshop invites students, employees, and passersby to step into the messy, funny, awkward, powerful world of menstrual experiences—on stage and in community.

Using Forum Theatre techniques developed by Augusto Boal, we’ll co-create scenes based on real-life experiences of menstruation: the stigma, the silence, the social dynamics. Whether you menstruate or not, you’re welcome to play, reflect, and shift perspectives.

No theatre experience needed—just curiosity, openness, and maybe a sense of humor.

Bring your non-menstruating friends!
