Public Panel: Labour in Sustainable Agriculture

Date:
8 December 2025
Time: 13:30 – 15:15
Venue: Speakers Corner, Impulse Building, Wageningen Campus

Our contemporary food system is facing unprecedented challenges. While there is growing consensus on the need for sustainable food production, the voices of agricultural workers—often the most marginalised actors in the food system—are frequently overlooked. Join us for a public panel discussion, where international experts and practitioners will explore the challenges faced by agricultural workers and discuss how sustainability transitions can be designed to benefit labour as well as the environment.

Panel participants:

  • Ben McKay, University of Calgary
  • Alessandra Corrado, University of Calabria
  • Zeynep Ceren Eren Benlisoy, ISS
  • Anelyse Weiler, University of Victoria
  • Florina Fijn, FNV
  • Niels Minnard, FNV

The event is hosted by the CSPS Critical Agrarian Studies Research Cluster, the Rural Sociology Group, and WASS.
No registration required.
