We are getting better at developing impact-based weather predictions. Yet recent disasters have shown that a major challenge remains: ensuring that early warnings reach the people who need them most — in time, and in a form that enables meaningful action.
This seminar explores how we can move from early warning to early action. What does it take to translate improved forecasts into effective preparedness on the ground? What barriers still prevent timely response? And how can collaboration between science, policy, and humanitarian practice be strengthened — in the Netherlands and beyond?
The Wageningen Disaster Network joins forces with the NWO-DST Merian LODESTAR project to host this timely discussion. Together, we invite researchers, students, policymakers, and practitioners to attend inspiring keynotes and engage in a dynamic lunchtime panel focused on practical solutions and future directions.
