Seminar | Unlocking Grassroots Voices: Environmental Justice in Namibia

Excited to share an upcoming seminar that brings environmental justice, indigenous rights, and grassroots activism into sharp focus

We’ll be hosting Dennis Munyingwa, Community Environmental Legal Officer at Natural Justice, for a session on “Unlocking Grassroots Voices: Environmental Justice in Namibia”.

Drawing on his lived experience from Bwabwata National Park and his close work with indigenous communities in the N#a Jaqna Conservancy and Nyae Nyae Conservancy, Dennis will explore how environmental law and human rights intersect in practice – and how local communities are shaping policy at national and global levels.

This is a unique opportunity to engage with real-world strategies for environmental and social justice, grounded in community-led action and legal advocacy.

📅 Date: 2 July 2026
🕑 Time: 14:00 – 15:00
📍 Location: Room B0073, The Leeuwenborch

Organized by the Political Ecology cluster of the Centre for Space, Place and Society, in collaboration with the Sociology of Development and Change chair group
